EMPOWERING VETERANS

Transitional Housing for Homeless Veterans is committed to offering essential support and housing services to veterans in Kaufman County, Texas. As a non-profit organization, we focus on helping veterans transition smoothly back to independent living while addressing their individual needs and goals.

 

Together, we aim to restore a sense of pride and dignity to those who feel stuck in seemingly hopeless circumstances.

 

We provide support until they can sustain themselves through affordable housing, job training resources, family reintegration programs, counseling, and a wide range of community resources.

Mrs. Martin joined the board in 2025, bringing with her a distinguished 27-year career in law enforcement and extensive expertise in criminal justice. Mrs. Martin served as a police officer before advancing to the role of Supervisory Administrative Specialist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she demonstrated exceptional leadership in high-stakes environments. 

Mrs. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in criminal justice, further complemented by her Level 2 teaching credentials.

A passionate advocate for community safety and education.

 

Mrs. Martin has served on the committee of the Police Suicide Foundation and was a National Trainer in gang resistance education, contributing to nationwide efforts to empower youth and support law enforcement professionals. Prior to retiring from law enforcement, she successfully operated a business in California, showcasing her entrepreneurial acumen.

 

Now residing in Texas, Karen remains deeply committed to serving her community and church. As a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she brings a unique perspective on community engagement and resilience to the board. Her extensive experience in law enforcement, education, and business operations positions her as a vital asset in advancing the organization’s mission and fostering impactful governance.

      Chris Creager

Chris Creager joined the board in 2025, bringing an extensive career in business management within the private sector, marked by a steadfast commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth. Mr. Creager currently holds a full-time position in management while also serving as an educator at the college level, where he imparts his expertise in business management to the next generation of leaders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an MBA, which have equipped him with a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and leadership principles.

A devoted father and husband, Mr. Creager comes from a faith-based family with a rich history of community involvement. He actively serves his family and community through his church, reflecting his strong values of service and stewardship. Mr. Creager’s blend of professional experience in business management, academic contributions, and dedication to community engagement positions him as a vital asset to the board, ensuring a balanced perspective in advancing the organization’s mission and delivering sustainable value to stakeholders.

Mr. Martin serves as the Chief Administrative Officer as of 2025, bringing a wealth of experience from his distinguished career in retail business management. Currently, Mr. Martin is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Grand Canyon University, where his outstanding academic performance has earned him a place on the Dean’s List and the prestigious Presidential List.

 

A committed member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Larry exemplifies leadership and a passion for scholarly excellence. Guided by his strong Christian faith, he upholds the principles of hard work, integrity, and dedication in all his endeavors.

     Bobby Rich

 Chef Legal Officer

Bobby L. Rich, Jr. joins the board as Chief Legal Officer, bringing a distinguished career marked by a steadfast commitment to justice, leadership, and community service.

 

Currently serving his second term as Judge of Kaufman County Court at Law #2 in Kaufman, Texas, he oversees judicial proceedings with a depth of experience drawn from over two decades in law enforcement and legal practice.

 

Judge Rich began his public service journey with 21 years as a Dallas Police Officer before earning his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law. Following his retirement from the police force, he honed his legal expertise at the

Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, later transitioning to private practice at the law firm of Linebarger, Goggan, Sampson & Blair, where he rose to the rank of Partner.

​

Beyond his professional achievements, Judge Rich serves as Pastor of Gray’s Prairie Missionary Baptist Church, where he ministers to his congregation with the same integrity and compassion that define his career.

 

An active community leader, as he sits on the Board of North Texas Mental Health. A proud husband, father of two, and grandfather of five, Bobby enjoys reading and spending quality time with his family in his spare time.

 

His extensive background in law enforcement, legal practice, and judicial service uniquely positions him to provide insightful and principled counsel to the board.

      Dwayne Sharpe 

   Chief Financial Officer

Duayne Sharpe joins the board as Chief Financial Officer in 2025, bringing a robust entrepreneurial spirit and a diverse skill set honed across decades of technical, military, and business experience.

 

Early in his career, Mr. Sharpe worked as an electrician and mechanic, mastering the repair of analog and digital computer systems, as well as gas, diesel, and electric motors, with hands-on expertise in electronics, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. His military service further sharpened his capabilities, where he excelled as an Instrument Flight Trainer Specialist, gaining invaluable knowledge in pilot training, avionics, and navigation—skills that instilled a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to his work.

 

These foundational experiences propelled Mr. Sharpe into a career marked by a steadfast dedication to duty and a willingness to embrace increasing levels of responsibility in private industry. As the operator of a Cornwell Tools franchise, he currently supports mechanics and technicians by providing essential tools and equipment, fostering self-reliance and accountability in others—a principle he champions with genuine care for their growth and success. His leadership philosophy, rooted in empowering individuals to exceed their own expectations, has been a driving force throughout his professional journey.

 

A committed follower of Jesus Christ, Mr. Sharpe serves as a trustee for Gray’s Prairie Missionary Baptist Church, where he upholds biblical values of integrity and service. As CFO, his technical acumen, business insight, and principled approach will guide the board’s financial strategy with precision and purpose.
